Barcelona set their sights on a young, exciting winger available for cheap.

Barcelona have reportedly accelerated their efforts to sign young Spanish winger Antonio Cordero as they are keen on making an addition in the left-forward area.

The 18-year-old winger made his senior debut for Malaga last season in the Primera Federacion. He has continued his ascendency in LALIGA 2 this campaign, with three goals and three assists so far.

He is also a Spanish U-19 in international, hence is on the radar of a number of top LALIGA clubs, including Real Madrid and Barcelona. According to Sport, the Blaugrana have stepped up their effort and are set to beat the rest of the chasing pack to his signing.

Barcelona need Cordero

Barcelona have been the top-scoring team in Spain this season, and by some distance, thanks to Hansi Flick's ultra-attacking style and the front three of Raphinha, Lewandowski and Lamine Yamal.

Nico Williams was Barcelona's chief target for the summer, as there was no natural left winger at the club. More recently, they have also flirted with the idea of signing AC Milan's Rafael Leao.

However, Raphinha—who has been deployed at left wing this season—has been sensational; hence, the Blaugrana are reconsidering the need to splurge on an established player in the position.

Their financial situation meant they missed out on Williams last summer. It could also prevent them from meeting Milan's request for Leao. However, Cordero, priced at only €2 million, could be an ideal candidate, given his price and that he would be coming in as a Raphinha under study.
