Harambee Stars: Charles Okwemba on why Engin Firat should be replaced by either Matano, Kimanzi or 'Ghost'
He said the trio can save Kenyan football from the mediocrity shown by the foreign coaches and their proven track record is admirable.
The former Ingwe captain questioned the calibre of players at Tomas Trucha's disposal, adding that as much as they are not giving their best, there's a lack of collective responsibility in general, This, he said, is born from the fact that majority of the players don't understand the value of playing for the budge.
"There are no quality players in that team and those who are there don’t understand the importance of playing for the badge and that jersey. That is where the problem is,” he told Citizen Digital.

FOOTBALL AFC Leopards legend unconvinced by Trucha's ‘questionable’ record
Former AFC Leopards midfielder Charles Okwmba has questioned the credentials of Ingwe new coach Tomas Trucha who he does not feel will lead them to success
There was optimism at the start of the season after Ingwe mastered three wins from four matches but that form quickly faded and the team returned to their common shell. It is two months without victory for Ingwe and Okwemba said it is tough to predict what to expect from the team.
He maintained that the poor results hurt their adoring fans the most, challenging the players to pull up their socks. Ingwe last won the KPL title in 1998 and there's a lot that needs to be done to return back the glory days at the den.
“There seems to be no coordination between the players, technical bench and the club leadership. Everyone seems to be on their own doing their things which is not good at all,” he presumed.
“They are doing a lot of injustice to the fans who are very passionate about the team but at the moment you don’t know what to expect with the team’s results," Okwemba hinted.
