Nigeria's Golden Eaglets targets historic finish in Algeria

Nigeria are drawn in Group B with Zambia, Morocco, and South Africa, and would play their first match on Sunday, April 30.

Nigeria's Golden Eaglets head coach, Nduka Ugbade, has proclaimed that the team is capable of competing and decided to win the competition to honor the country.

Ugbade has made clear his crew’s aspirations for the U17 Africa Cup of Nations in Algeria.

Nigeria's under-17 team will be one of 12 teams that attempt to qualify for the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup by finishing as one of the best four teams.

Pulse Sports reports that the team has arrived in the Algerian city of Constantine for their final preparations.

The Golden Eaglets will start their campaign against Zambia at the Mohamed Hamlaoui Stadium on Sunday.

He said, “We’ve been getting ready for the previous 10 months, and we’ve executed so properly in Ghana (WAFU B qualifiers), Our goal is to not less than qualify for the World Cup and win the trophy if doable.” 

The final four groups in Algeria will qualify for the 2023 FIFA U17 World Cup.
