Nigerian reactions to Oshoala’s substitution
Nigerians took to social media to drag Super Falcons coach Waldrum after he took off the best player in the game and left a player who had a poor game.
Oshoala was the best player against Spain before being substituted for Chinwendu Ihezuo in the 73rd minute.
The BAY FC striker created two big chances in both halves which were wasted by Super Falcons winger Ajibade.
Waldrum took off Oshoala leaving the attack without any physical presence and shortly after the substitution, Spain scored the winning goal.
The head coach left Ajibade on the field till the final whistle after having a poor performance and missing two big chances in the game.
Fans went wild on social media after the substitution, calling out Waldrum for leaving Ajibade and taking out Oshoala.
One fan said, “I don’t think taking out Oshoala was a right decision by the coach.”
Another fan replied, “i’m of the opinion our coach doesn’t fancy Oshoala much.”
One fan commented, “How can you take out our most dangerous attacking player in Oshoala.”
The Super Falcons will now focus on their last game against Japan after losing their first two games in Group C.
