Nigerians express their anger on social media following the substitution of Super Falcons star Asisat Oshoala.

The Super Falcons of Nigeria suffered another defeat in the 2024 Olympic women’s football competition leaving them with zero points in two games.

World Cup winner Spain sealed their second victory in Group C, defeating Nigeria 1-0 to top the table with six points.

The defeat was not the only issue that got Nigerians angry but also the substitution made by Randy Waldrum during the game.

Nigerian reactions to Oshoala’s substitution

Nigerians took to social media to drag Super Falcons coach Waldrum after he took off the best player in the game and left a player who had a poor game.

Oshoala was the best player against Spain before being substituted for Chinwendu Ihezuo in the 73rd minute.

One fan said, “I don’t think taking out Oshoala was a right decision by the coach.”

Another fan replied, “i’m of the opinion our coach doesn’t fancy Oshoala much.”
