The Super Eagles will welcome Ghana to Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, for the return leg of the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier on Saturday, December 28.
Ghana and Nigeria are locked in a two-legged qualifying battle for the African Nations Championship (CHAN) tournament, which will be hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania from February 1-28, 2025.
With the away goal rule active for this one, Nigeria must be careful not to concede, as the risk of a score draw would mean the Super Eagles fail to qualify.
Nigeria vs. Ghana Preview
Ghana's Black Galaxies boast a strong historical record against Nigeria in CHAN qualifying, having previously denied the Super Eagles B team a place in the finals in 2009 and 2023.
Despite this, the Eagles are determined to capitalise on home advantage in the upcoming match, and Coach Daniel Ogunmodede has emphasised that his team remains undeterred by Ghana's past successes.
“They may be depending on so much history and the times they have been victorious over Nigeria, especially in the CHAN, but we are blind to that,” he said.

The match will be officiated by an all-Moroccan team, led by referee Hamza El Fariq.
He will be joined by assistant referees Abdessamad Abertoune and Zakaria Bouchtaoui, with Hicham Temsamani serving as the fourth official.
Time for Nigeria vs. Ghana CHAN qualifier
The second leg will take place at Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo by 17:00 GMT+1 (5 PM Nigerian time).
