Asisat Oshoala has opened up on the reason behind leaving Spanish giants Barcelona for American team Bay FC.
What happened
Williams put on a clinic in Spain's European Championships round of sixteen 4-1 victory against Georgia, scoring, assisting, and making a 100 per cent passing accuracy; he is the first player to do all three at the Euros since 1980.
The performance earned him plaudits, and his name climbed through the charts, with many accounts on social media singing his praises.
One such was Super Falcon's ace Asisat Oshoala, whose method of eulogy was to immediately link the winger to Barcelona, a club whose female team she represented from 2019 until earlier this year.
“Nico to Barca...HERE WE GO,” Oshoala tweeted, emulating transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano’s method of announcing deals.
Nico Williams to Barcelona
Barcelona are in the market for a left winger, and the Athletic Club star has been reported to be the club's first choice for the position.
Although his release clause is relatively affordable for a player of his talent (a reported €58 million), he has high salary demands, and given Barcelona's financial situation, a move for the 21-year-old is complicated.
He and Yamal, who is already on the books of the Blaugrana, have made Spain's flanks the most dangerous in the Euros so far, and they could replicate the brilliance for Barcelona next season.
