Neymar certainly has his favourites and Verratti is one of them
Neymar Junior has identified Marco Verratti as one of the best players he has ever played with in a recent interview ahead of Paris Saint-Germain’s UEFA Champions League match against Bayern Munich.
Everything is easier with Verratti
The Brazillian forward has been teammates with Verratti since he joined PSG in 2017 after Neymar’s old club Barcelona tried to sign the Italian and got sucker punched into selling Neymar instead.
Speaking to journalists ahead of the UCL Round of 16 tie, Neymar said, "Marco is a great player. We all know his qualities. Everything is easier when he is on the pitch.
“He is one of the best players I have ever played with."
Neymar’s praise of Verratti does not come lightly, as the Brazilian has shared dressing rooms with some of the best midfielders in the world such as Xavi Hernandez and Andres Iniesta at Barcelona, but still identifies Verratti as not just a standout player, but one of the best ever.
Verratti, Mbappe and Messi all fir for Bayern Munich
Neymar will be glad to know, as will other PSG players and fans, that Verratti is fit enough to make the squad for the UCL match against Bayern Munich at the Parc de Prince.
Verratti had been an injury doubt ahead of the tie, but his inclusion in the final team means that they can count on him at some point in the game, even if only from the bench.
Neymar also had kind words for Kylian Mbappe, saying that he was "extremely important for the team" and there were "good signs he has recovered well"
PSG are also buoyed by the presence of Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi in the squad to face Bayern, but it is still uncertain how big a role both players will play as well.
