Neymar linked with sensational move to Premier League record holders

Brazilian superstar Neymar has been linked with a move to the Premier League by his compatriot.

Former Arsenal midfielder Gilberto Silva has linked his countryman Neymar to his former club, stating that the move is plausible and would be a good deal for both parties.

Neymar is currently playing outside of Europe with Saudi Pro League champions Al-Hilal after leaving Paris Saint-Germain last summer for a reported €90 million fee.

Although he has barely worn the blue of the 19-time SPFL champions (five appearances in all competitions) as he has struggled with an injury to his cruciate ligament, Silva believes he is still one of the best players in the world and would be a good fit for Mikel Arteta's side.

What Gilberto Silva said

Speaking in an interview, as reported by Football London, Silva, who was a part of the Invincibles and played for Arsenal from 2002 to 2008 before leaving for Greek side Panathinaikos, believes that a move to North London for Neymar would not be impossible.

Silva argues that Neymar is still one of the best footballers in the world and that the Premier League is a melting pot of the top players in the world, making Arsenal, who have come second in the English top flight in consecutive seasons, an ideal match.

"I’d love to see Neymar in the Premier League with Arsenal,” Silva said.

"It would bring a lot of joy to fans and make the competition even more special. When you look at the Premier League, we want to see the best players in the world, and to have him around would be great. Let’s see. It’s not impossible that he could join Arsenal; why not?"

Neymar is still convalescing; hence, he is not partaking in the ongoing Copa America; however, the Selecao captain is supporting his team from the stands.
