Manchester United and Newcastle United go head-to-head in one of the games of the weekend in the English Premier League.

It’s a cracking weekend in the popular English Premier League, with some blockbusters lined up for game week 14 this weekend.

One of them will be at St. James Park where Newcastle United and Manchester United will go head-to-head in the battle for European places.

The Magpies will find themselves brimming with optimism for this one, while their visitors interesting appear to be the underdogs.

Ahead of that pulsating clash slated for Saturday night, here are three compelling reasons why Newcastle United is poised for another victory against the Red Devils.

1. High-Flying Attack: The Call of the Magpies

Newcastle United’s attack has emerged as a force in the Premier League under the guidance of Eddie Howe.

With the likes of Anthony Gordon, Alexander Isak and Almiron leading the lines alongside Callum Wilson, the Magpies have become a formidable and potent attacking unit.

Heading into the game tonight, Newcastle rank second in the PL for goals scored, with 31, only defending champions, Manchester City, have scored more (33).

With average goals per game of 2.4, the electrifying pace, control, and clinical finishing the Magpies possess will surely prove a handful for their visitors.

2. Inconsistent Manchester United

Yes, I agree that the Reds are one of the in-form teams heading into this explosive encounter, but Erik Ten Hag’s men have struggled for consistency.

Manchester United have often produced underwhelming performances which has seen them only manage 16 goals for an average of 1.2 goals per game this season.

The blunted attack is also not helped by the defensive frailties that have seen the club concede as many goals as they have scored all season in the PL.

3. St. James’ Park: The Fortress

The Magpies have turned the Park into not just a formidable fortress but a fearful one.

Eddie Howe has made St. James' Park a safe haven since he joined Newcastle United.

While Newcastle United have lost just once in nine matches in the Premier League leading up to this clash, only Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal have been able to pick up wins at St. James’ since Eddie Howe took reigns two years ago.

The Geordie faithful have played a pivotal role in this, having developed a reputation for their passionate home support and the team’s ability to grind results against top oppositions.
