Northern Gateway has been relegated from the StarTimes- FUFA Big League but -nine other teams have to battle for survival.

The battle for promotion in the StarTimes FUFA Big League is hotter this season but there is a grand relegation dogfight happening at the other end of the table.

Already, Northern Gateway has packed their bags but will be required under the law to fulfil their sporting obligations by honouring their three remaining games.

The 1-0 loss to Calvary left them stuck on 19 points and with no bonus point awarded in football, the nine remaining on their plate cannot satisfy the hangman.

They face Police away this week before hosting their final Big League game at The Gate Stadium in Lira and then sum it up on the road against Mbarara City.

Police and Mbarara City are fighting for promotion. The other two are NEC and Kitara.

Dogfight

Basically, from the table standings, only Booma and Calvary and another of the top four who will fail to grab the ticket are assured of second division next season.

Downwards from Lugazi in 7th with 37 points are not safe.

Kaaro Karungi, are 8th with 36 as Jinja North United and veterans Ndejje University follow with a point less. Kyetume and Kataka who were the leaders in the race for promotion last season have fallen to their lows and sit just above the red tape with 34 and 30 respectively.

Luweero United (29), Soroti City (27) and Adjumani Town Council occupy the other slots in red but have a decent chance to fight up.
