However, while most Ugandans look at Nakivubo Stadium as an entirely footballing facility, it is set to harbour a lot more entities.

Nakivubo War Memorial Stadium is currently in its final stages of completion and as per the most recent updates, it shouldn't be too long before it gets busy with action.

However, while most Ugandans look at Nakivubo Stadium as an entirely footballing facility, it is set to harbour a lot more entities.

In his most recent engagement with the media, stadium developer Hamis Kiggundu confirmed Nakivubo will also shelter netball, boxing and basketball.

"Besides football, in the sides we shall have basketball and netball courts," he revealed before adding:

Nakivubo Stadium harbours VIP, VIIP and Executive Boxes

"We also want to put a boxing club that has once existed here," the celebrated businessman noted.

Kiggundu also confirmed Nakivubo Stadium will also lodge all classes of people when finally, it gets to be opened.

"It has like four sittings including the VIP, the VIIP and the Executive boxes for those that can afford, and then the ordinary sections in the sides."

He further made it public knowledge that the stadium will also conceal cinemas and halls of residence.

"We have added two cinema halls, halls of residences for players, with 72 rooms."

"So I have tried to put up a stadium that will not ashame us but also to shame everyone that thought we wouldn't have the stadium,” Kiggundu said.

Kiggundu then responded to the allegations that Nakivubo Stadium lacks a worthy parking lot, terming them ‘lies.’

"Its not true (that there is no parking), and everyone can confirm it before leaving," he told the press.

It should be noted that Nakivubo Stadium was fronted and approved by CAF as one of the facilities for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.

Uganda, along with Kenya and Tanzania recently won the bid to host the 2027 AFCON, beating the like of Senegal and Botswana.
