CAF WCL Nakacwa dreams of the CAF Champions League with Kampala Queens

Nakacwa and Nyinagahirwa joined on loan from Kawempe Muslim to boost Kampala Queens' continental ambitions.

Defender Samalie Nakacwa has vowed to use her loan spell at Kampala Queens to achieve success on the continent after joining from Kawempe Muslim.

The FUFA Women Super League champions added Nakacwa with her teammate Shakirah Nyinagahirwa on a short-term loan to boost their ranks ahead of the CAF Women’s Champions League CECAFA regional qualifier next month.

“My immediate ambitions right now are to win the CAF Champions League [qualifiers and qualify for the final],” Nakacwa said in her first interview with the club.

Nakacwa and Nyinagahirwa joined on loan from Kawempe Muslim.

“We have a good team that is capable of winning, but we need to work together to achieve this,” she added.

The Ugandan champions will host the tournament at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru and Lugogo, respectively, from August 12th-30th.

Kampala Queens are in Group A alongside Commercial Bank of Ethiopia, Buja Queens (Burundi), FAD (Djibouti) and Yei Joint stars from South Sudan.

Group B has JKT Queens (Tanzania), Vihiga Queens (Kenya), AS Kigali and New Generation from Zanzibar.
