Naby Keita is set to leave Liverpool following the expiration of his contract at the end of the season.
Naby Keita is reportedly set to leave Liverpool at the end of the season, with a move back to the Bundesliga on the cards.
The 27-year-old joined Liverpool in the summer of 2018 from Leipzig for a reported €60 million fee. However, injury, among other factors, has seen his involvement limited for the Reds.
Keita to leave Liverpool
Sky Germany reports that Naby Keita is on the verge of leaving Liverpool at the end of the season when his contract expires, as a contract extension is unlikely at this stage with many clubs said to be interested in him.
The Guinean joined Liverpool in the summer of 2018, after agreeing on a deal to join the English club a year before his arrival. In his four-and-a-half seasons at the club, Keita has only featured 127 times for Liverpool, averaging around 27 games a season, less the number of league matches alone in a season.
Keita has missed 86 games for Liverpool since he joined, according to TransferMarkt, and it has hampered the midfielder from having a run of games to establish himself as a mainstay in Liverpool’s midfield, making it onerous for him to justify his sizable price tag.
Keita may not have played much, but he was part of many successes at Liverpool, winning seven titles including the Champions League title of the 2018/19 season, and the premiere Premier League title of the Reds in the 2019/20 season
