The former Harambee Stars striker has described KCB’s current run of form as 'unacceptable' as they prepare to face Michael Olunga’s MOFA in the FKF Cup this weekend.

KCB are keen to reverse their fortunes after a challenging week as they take on the Michael Olunga Foundation Academy (MOFA) at the Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay in the FKF Cup Round of 32 match this weekend.

Currently occupying 10th spot in the FKF Premier League with 29 points from 22 matches, the Bernard Mwalala-led side find themselves in a period of transition with the introduction of new players.

During a training session at KCB Leadership Centre, Karen, Mwalala stressed the importance of forging synergies between the incoming players and the existing squad for success on the field.

Mwalala expressed the urgency for the new additions to adapt swiftly.

“I need them to adapt quickly and settle in well for us to win matches. In the last five Premier League matches, we have failed to win a single one of them, which is unacceptable for a club of this magnitude," said Mwalala.

“I expect a turnaround this weekend against MOFA, then we can build on that win."

The return of striker Derrick Otanga from injury and wingback Kevin Okumu adds strength to KCB, although the duo's participation in the upcoming match remains uncertain.

Notably, new goalkeeper Faruk Shikhalo, recruited from Kakamega Homeboyz, is set to feature again after making his debut in last weekend's 2-0 loss to Tusker FC.

Striker Philemon Nyakwakwa, a recent addition from Mara Sugar, has already participated in two matches for the bankers.

Midfielder Dismas Ongocho, despite making a substitute appearance, is yet to start a match for KCB. Meanwhile, Collins Neto is anticipated to lead the attacking front for KCB in the upcoming weekend fixture.

Looking ahead, KCB will host newcomers Murang’a SEAL on March 3 in the Premier League, further intensifying the title race. The team remains optimistic about a positive turnaround, aiming to capitalise on a potential victory against MOFA.
