KCB FC head coach Bernard Mwalala has revealed the two things his side is working on to help maintain their winning momentum when league action resumes this weekend.

The Bankers brushed aside Munanga FC, a Kirinyaga-based outfit 12-0 on Saturday, as the former Harambee Stars striker sought to give his team a run of minutes to enable them to adapt to his system and get their match fitness in check ahead of their league outing against Kariobangi Sharks on Sunday.

Speaking to Pulse Sports, Mwalala explained the two things his side are working on to ensure that they build on from their winning start against AFC Leopards.

“We have to improve on our finishing, especially deliveries from the flanks. They were not good at all (against AFC Leopards),” Mwalala said.

Mwalala is grateful for the international break which he says has helped him fix mistakes that he saw from the AFC Leopards win.

“It is helping me. If you look, I noticed that there were some mistakes that need at least a week to rectify, which will help me a lot moving forward.”

Mwalala arrived at KCB to take the reins from Zedekiah Zico Otieno who left the club when his contract expired.

The Bankers concluded the previous season in the sixth position and under the leadership of the former Kenya international, however, under Mwalala they are determined to climb higher and challenge for the league title.

Last season, they were the team with the second-best defensive record in the league, but the worst in attack of all sides that finished in the top six.
