Murang'a Seal have recently produced impressive results against the likes of AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia.

Murang’a Seal head coach Juma Abdallah is determined to build on his team’s recent success after a memorable two weeks that saw them take down AFC Leopards and frustrate defending champions Gor Mahia.

Currently ninth in the table with nine points, Seal trail league leaders KCB by eight points but have shown promise with their recent performances.

The team stunned AFC Leopards with a narrow 1-0 victory at the SportPesa Arena, then followed up with an impressive 2-2 draw against Gor Mahia.

In a thrilling matchup, Gor Mahia initially seemed on track for a decisive win, holding a 2-0 lead at halftime with goals from Sharrif Musa and Musa Masika.

However, Murang’a Seal’s determination shone through in the second half as captain Joseph Irungu and Elly Saenyi scored to level the game, shifting momentum and leaving Gor Mahia fans stunned.

Looking ahead to their next game, Abdallah has outlined the key areas his team is focusing on to ensure they maintain this level of performance and push further up the table.

Speaking to Pulse Sports, he emphasized the importance of consistency and fitness in their bid for continued success.

“We need all three points to put us in a better position before we gain that international break rest and take on Shabana at home,” Abdallah said.

He noted that Seal’s tactical and technical abilities are strong, remarking, “Technically and tactically, we are much better than many other teams in Kenya. Now we only need to keep working on our fitness to make that next step.”

Reflecting on their game against Gor Mahia, Abdallah praised his players’ resilience, particularly in the second half. “The players showed their resilience against Gor Mahia, especially in the second half when we pushed hard and created our chances,” he added.

As they gear up to face Kakamega Homeboyz at home on Sunday, Abdallah is confident that with adequate preparation, his team can secure all three points.

“We need to gain more consistency. We will prepare well to get all three points against Kakamega Homeboyz on Sunday,” he affirmed.

Abdallah's focus on fitness and resilience indicates his vision for Murang’a Seal to become a formidable and consistent contender in the league—a goal that now seems within reach following their recent performances against some of Kenya's top teams.
