Should SMASK emerge champions, they will represent the CECAFA region in the continental schools' showpiece, and the celebrated educationist is looking forward to it.

"We are going to the tournament; you know what is required? We have about 13 Nations in the CECAFA; we have to work hard, no shortcuts, so you must be a champion to qualify," he said before the team flew out on Friday.

"With the preparation that has been given, just believe that you can and yes, we can," the Vipers SC director added.

"Make sure that we're disciplined, focused and follow the instructions of the team officials."

"You know what it means; in St Mary's, we go for trophies, not just to participate. We're competitors, and I believe you can."

"The preparations have been very adequate, and we have had a number of friendly matches. Now, just put whatever you have done to work," Mulindwa summed.

The Zonal Qualifiers entail schools from Uganda, Kenya, Burundi, Tanzania, Rwanda and Somalia.

However, schools from Eritrea, Sudan and South Sudan pulled out from the Zonal Championship.
