Steven Dese Mukwala has returned to the Uganda Cranes for the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Tanzania this month.
The former URA striker is enjoying the form of his life scoring eight goals for his Ghanaian side Asante Kotoko since joining at the beginning of the season.
Mukwala last featured for the national team on November 14th, 2021 as a 70th-minute substitute for Martin Kizza in the 1-0 loss to Mali in a FIFA World Cup 2022 qualifier.

“Kotoko has received the invitation letter and the player is expected to join the rest of the Cranes squad in a fortnight to continue preparations for the two matches,” Ghanaian portal Soccernet confirmed.
Uganda Cranes will host Tanzania in a matchday three affair on Friday 24th March at the Suez Canal Stadium in Egypt and then fly to Dar Es Salaam for the reverse tie four days later.
The Cranes lie bottom of Group F with only one point, the same as their CECAFA rivals while Algeria leads with six and Niger second with two.
