Kenya Police midfielder Kenneth Muguna has explained the reasons behind posting a photo of him wearing a Simba jersey shortly after being released Azam.
The Harambee Stars midfielder was plying his trade for Azam for the last two years before he left to join the Tanzanian giants on a two-year contract, which expired on Jun 30, 2023.

The former Gor Mahia and Azam FC midfielder has explained why Tanzanian football has grown significantly over the last couple of years.
Muguna had been taking to his social media page to make cryptic posts, which left alot of fans puzzled over his next move until he decided to Join spendthrifts Police last Friday.
He regularly posted tweets of him going back to Tanzania, which made people assume he was still set to join another club within the country.

One of his posts had him wearing a Simba jersey with a caption indicating that a big move was 'loading', which left plenty of fans excited that he would be joining a club that will be playing in the Champions League next season.
However, the 2016 Kenya Premier League MVP has said he wore it “ the same way he could wear any other jersey”.
“I just wore Simba’s jersey the same way I can wear any jersey. Joash (Onyango) gave it to me when our Azam side faced Simba. I just felt like wearing it,” Muguna said.

The midfielder had become a free agent after his two-year stint with Azam and was assessing a lot of options until the law enforcers came knocking.
“The only difference is that I recorded a video and took pictures with it, but the caption was not talking about my jersey, it was just talking about my future.”
Over the weekend, the Law Enforcers confirmed the signings of both Muguna and Kariobangi Sharks hotshot Tyson Otieno, adding both players to a star-studded squad with ambitions to win the Premier League next season.
