Michael Olunga: Five goals in his last five games, should Zimbabwe & Namibia be worried?
Harambee Stars captain Michael Olunga comes into the November AFCON 2025 qualifiers against Zimbabwe and Namibia in fine form which should give coach Engin Firat plenty of hope.
Olunga was the match winner when Al Duhail beat Al Ahli 1-0 on October 19, with his goal making the difference, while he helped rescue a point against Al Gharafa on October 27.
He then scored a goal and provided an assist in their 6-2 thrashing of Al Shamal on November 1 to sign off in style ahead of this month’s international break.
“October delivered. Let November be even better. Time for Harambee Stars,” a delighted Olunga posted online after he was revealed as October’s finest.
The striker has maintained his fine form this season, scoring in five straight league matches for Christophe Galtier’s men, as they look to reclaim the title they won in 2022-23.
Al Duhail are top of the table on 22 points, four ahead of champions Al Sadd and Al Ahli, after nine league matches.
Olunga will now turn his attention to Harambee Stars who have must-win matches against Zimbabwe and Namibia on Friday and Tuesday respectively.
