Harambee Stars captain Michael Olunga’s good form for his club continued on Sunday when he found the target in a fourth game in a row for his table topping Al Duhail.

Harambee Stars captain Michael Olunga made it four goals in his last four games when his strike helped Al Duhail to 1-1 draw in a league match at home to Al Gharafa on Sunday.

Olunga thought he had scored the winner when he found the target in the 55th minute as Al Duhail held onto their lead until the 87th minute when their visitors found the equaliser.

The late goal denied Al Duhail an opportunity to extend their league lead but they still remained top of the table on 19 points, four ahead of champions Al Sadd after eight matches.

After a goalless first half, it took 10 minutes after the second stanza for Al Duhail to get on target, Olunga doing the honours once more for Christophe Galtier’s men for his seventh league goal of the season.

They held firm until late when their visitors found the leveller courtesy of Ghana-born Qatari striker Mohammed Muntari.

The Red Knights were hoping to make it back-to-back league wins after Olunga’s lone goal gave them a 1-0 victory against Al Ahli last week but it was not to be although they are still in the driver’s seat as far as the title race is concerned.

Olunga is also looking to reclaim the Golden Boot Award and has maintained his hot scoring streak amid stiff competition from his rivals.
