Harambee Stars captain Michale Olunga returned to club duties with Al Duhail in preparation for the new season amid speculation over where his future lies.
Harambee Stars captain Michael Olunga has returned to work with his club Al Duhail as preparations for the new season starts.
Olunga did not have a fruitful 2023-24 campaign as he endured a trophyless season and finished sixth in the league, failing to defend their title.
The Kenyan international will be hoping for some good tidings in the upcoming season with Al Duhail keen to regain their place at the top.

Finance Bill 2024: Olunga, Wanyama among sports personalities who rejected unpopular tax proposals
Football icons Michael Olunga and Victor Wanyama joined other sports personalities in standing in solidarity with Kenyans who resisted the Finance Bill 2024.
His return also cools speculation over his future, having sparked rumours with a cryptic social media post at the end of last season.
“When I look at the horizon, the future is very luminous. Never a chance to blink twice. It was a pleasure doing business. Only one Ogada Olunga,” the striker posted on social media in May.
Despite the bad season, Olunga continued to bang in the goals as he ended the season with 28 goals and three assists across all competition, with his last strike coming in the Emir Cup quarter-final against Al Arabi, when he scored a brace, before his side’s elimination in the semi-final by Al Sadd last weekend.

Michael Olunga adds huge investment to his multimillion portfolio
Harambee Stars captain Michael Olunga is determined to secure his life after football and has added another major investment to his multimillion empire.
It was the first time he was ending the season without silverware since he joined the Qatari side in January 2021.
Olunga joined Al Duhail from Japanese side Kashiwa Reysol in January 2021 and signed a three-year contract.
There was no indication on whether there was an option for a further year, or if talks had been held to extend the deal, which would make him an ideal candidate for a transfer but it seems all is sorted given his return to the Doha-based club.

Michael Olunga explains why it is difficult for Kenyan players to break into the English Premier League
Victor Wanyama is the only Kenyan to have played in the English Premier League for Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur, and Olunga has now explained why it is difficult for fellow countrymen to play there.
Olunga has enjoyed a fruitful spell in Doha, scoring 109 goals in 108 games in all competitions, while winning the Golden Boot award back-to-back in 2021-22 and 2022-23 and led Al Duhail to the league title last season.
Al Duhail have made soma changes to the squad with the addition of former Liverpool star Luis Alberto from Serie A side Lazio while Brazilian Phillipe Coutinho has left the club to link up with his boyhood team Vasco da Gama.
