According to his first interview with club media, Rangers TV, Dessers was on his way to being a lawyer before he dropped out to chase a career in football.

"I became a professional footballer quite late and for me studying was always plan A and football was plan B,” Dessers said.

"So I started law school, I did it (for) two years, and then I got the chance to become a professional football player, and of course, I went for it.”

"Now I'm here, so I think I made the good choice."

Desserts started his football career at OH Leuven in 2014 but lasted only two matches before he joined Lokeren where he spent two seasons, scoring seven goals in 40 appearances.

He moved to the Eredivisie club NAC Breda where he turned a hero after 29 goals in 40 matches for the club before starring for FC Utrecht and Heracles between 2017 and 2021.

Dessers has now been joined by compatriot and fellow Super Eagles star Leon Balogun, who has rejoined the Gers as reported by Pulse Sports Nigeria.
