McKinstry has hailed the impact of the new centre-back, comparing his signing to that of Jonny Evans at Manchester United.
Gor Mahia coach Johnathan McKinstry has defended his decision to sign Kennedy 'Vidic' Onyango in the off-season, further explaining why he has formed the bedrock of his side’s defence this season.
Onyango signed for Gor Mahia from Nairobi City Stars, where he served as captain last season, and has been an ever-present figure for his new club, mostly getting partnered alongside young Joshua Onyango this season.
Speaking after his side’s 0-0 draw with Kenya Police last Sunday, McKinstry hailed the impact the towering defender has made since arriving at the club due to his experience which has rubbed onto his teammates.
“Kennedy has just got a lot of experience,” McKinstry said. “You cannot fault that,” he added.
