Ugly scenes have dogged the regional league as the historic club battled for promotion to the second division against Admin from Tororo.

The latter eventually won under circumstances that left Heroes’ faithful disgruntled and threatened to go to the courts of law to halt Admin’s progress.

FUFA has finally intervened and ordered the playoff match between the winner of the Nile region, Kigulu United and Admin from Bukedi to be halted until the case is disposed of.

“FUFA has received a complaint from a section of stakeholders of Mbale Heroes Football Club highlighting a number of irregularities in some of the matches played in the ERFA 3rd division regional league 2022/23 season,” FUFA deputy CEO Decolas Kiiza explained in the letter.

“This matter has been forwarded to the relevant FUFA Judicial bodies for Judicial Review of the decisions taken by the ERFA Competitions Disciplinary Panel as sighted by the complainant parties. On hold

“The purpose of this letter, therefore, is to direct you to put on hold the ERFA 3rd division league playoffs earlier scheduled for 19th May 2023 until the Judicial bodies have given their judgement on the matter,” FUFA ordered before restraining their referees not to honour any match until further notice.

Pulse Sports has run a series of stories detailing a few incidents that have caused confusion and chaos in the league.
