Admin and Mbale Heroes are fighting for a FUFA Big League spot.
The chaos and drama between Admin from Tororo and Mbale Heroes is not about to end.
After several threats to hack each other, to claims of fixing matches and all, the highly-awaited clash between the two sides failed to kick off on Saturday in Tororo.
Currently, Admin lead the table with 50 points, one ahead of Busia Youngsters and three above Mbale Heroes with two games to go.
The winner of the Bukedi Group will face off with their counterparts to find one team that will fight for promotion to the FUFA Big League.
The teams and the Eastern Regional Football Association failed to reach a common ground as FUFA and its referees were dragged into chaos.
The region decided to appoint experienced national referee George Olemu to handle the fixture alongside Rasta Odakuni, Samuel Ichilai and Peter Okello as the fourth official.
Amin Bbosa was selected the match commissioner.
Drama
But on the day, Bbosa led the teams through their routine checks and introduced the referee.
All was running smoothly until some minutes to kick-off when Bbosa informed the teams that Olemu had been withdrawn from officiating the game.
“We were informed by the assessor that the head of referees at nationals, who they said is currently in South Africa, had stopped the centre referee from officiating the said game for reasons not explained to us,” Admin FC revealed in a press release.
The officials around summoned the two teams for an emergency meeting at a local joint called Hyena Caves.
“We agreed to play the game with any centre referee available [but] the Heroes officials on the other side said they would only play if Olemu was the centre referee,” they explained.
No Madanda
According to our sources, the officials and Admin proposed former FIFA referee Rondald Madanda who was at the venue but Mbale Heroes could not agree.
The standoff forced the game to be called off as the parties await the verdict from the chaos.
