The Brewers returned back to winning ways after a two-game winless run.

Tusker FC head coach Robert Matano has revealed how his team returned to winning ways against Muhoroni Youth after losing five points in their previous two games.

Tusker won their opening match of the season against Bandari but dropped two points at home to Kariobangi Sharks before losing 2-1 to giant slayers Kakamega Homeboyz in a game where Matano was not absent.

Speaking after the match against Muhoroni Youth, Matano was pleased his side found their winning touch, saying it was “difficult” to get back to winning ways after falling short in the last two games.

“After losing, it is very difficult to come up strong because one mistake leaves you losing concentration but from the word go, they did well and we planned so well,” Matano said.

The former AFC Leopards head coach revealed that he was informed about what happened in the Kakamega Homeboyz match, a game where he was not around, which created a desire in him to organise the team to get a better result against Muhoroni.

“Last game, I was not around, but after being told what happened, I decided to sit down and organise the team well and we saw we played good football today because of that organisation and also composure in the team.”

Matano is pleased with the efforts that every player made in contributing to the win, and has rallied his troops to keep the fire burning.

“Every player played his part. However, we started fast but in between, lost concentration again but all in all we are happy.”

David Odoyo struck home the all-important goal, to make the match set in stone for the Brewers to get all three points as he returned to the side for the first time since being sent off against Bandari in their opening encounter of the season.

Tusker will face FC Talanta in their fifth league match of the season.
