The gaffer is optimistic of a positive result for his side against William Muluya's charges.

Tusker FC head coach Robert Matano has previewed his side’s match against Kariobangi Sharks, describing it as a tough game, but insisted they are ready for the challenge.

The Brewers will make a short trip to Nyayo Stadium on Saturday to take on 11th-placed Sharks as they look to keep their momentum going in the hotly contested Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) title race.

Matano knows the opposition very well, having faced them many times, with Tusker only winning one of their last three games against Kariobangi Sharks, but he is confident that they will come back with three points.

“It will be a tough game but we will try our best and win the match as the three points will help us in maintaining the pace with other teams in the title race,” he said.

“We have organized ourselves well and we have been correcting the errors that we had in our last game.”

The Brewers won 1-0 against Kakamega Homeboyz in their last outing, with the lone goal coming from Mike Oduor at the stroke of halftime.

Tusker are placed second on the log with 61 points, and a win against Sharks will elevate them to the top of the table momentarily with Gor Mahia set to play AFC Leopards on Sunday.

The clash between the two sides will be the 12th meeting since 2017, and Tusker currently dominates the stats, having won six to Sharks three, with three matches ending in a draw.

When the teams met earlier this season, at the Ruaraka Grounds in February, they played to a 1-1 draw, with Tyson Otieno scoring for the Sharks while David Majak netted the equalizer.
