Postponed AFC Leopards clash vs Gor Mahia clash has been moved from the originally slated Nyayo Stadium.

The highly anticipated Mashemeji Derby between AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia has been rescheduled to take place at the Moi International Sports Center, Kasarani, on Sunday, March 2.

The match, originally planned for Nyayo National Stadium, has been relocated as Leopards opted for Kasarani to host the FKF Premier League’s most high-profile fixture.

The fixture was initially slated for November 24, 2024, but had to be postponed due to the unavailability of a suitable venue to host the high-risk encounter.

With both Nyayo and Kasarani now available following recent refurbishments, AFC Leopards have chosen Kasarani, which will host its first major football match since its closure in 2023.

The stadium underwent renovations in preparation for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) and the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

As excitement builds for the derby, AFC Leopards are yet to release ticketing details, though they are expected to do so later in the week.

The clash presents a crucial opportunity for both teams to keep pace with FKF Premier League leaders Kenya Police.

Leopards, currently fifth on the table with 34 points, are seven points behind the league leaders.

Gor Mahia, on the other hand, sit in third place with 36 points, trailing Kenya Police by five points.

With league supremacy and bragging rights at stake, fans can expect an electrifying encounter as the two fierce rivals battle for supremacy in Kenyan football’s biggest fixture.
