AFC Leopards chairman has disclosed plans on how the club intends to make the Mashemeji Derby against Gor Mahia a success.
AFC Leopards Chairman Dan Shikanda has explained how the Mashemeji Derby against Gor Mahia at the Nyayo National Stadium on Sunday, March 30 can eclipse the historic clash between Harambee Stars and Gabon that took place at the same venue last weekend.
The 2026 World Cup Qualifiers fixture played at the same ground on March 23, saw astronomical number of ticket sales.
Ticket sales for the clash was done electronically, as Nyayo stadium sold-out days before the fixture.
With the Mashemeji derby poised to go down a the same ground, the club is looking to replicate the Kenya vs Gabon ticketing system and capitalize on the two huge fan bases.

Top 7 World Footballers Who Own Luxurious and Expensive Private Jets
These jets illustrate the luxurious lifestyle that comes with being a top-tier football player and each has unique features and capabilities.
"It is an option we are seriously thinking of ahead of the match. It is a method we encourage our members and fans to adopt, as the sale of manual tickets on match days brings about unnecessary chaos and confusion,” said Shikanda as quoted by Mozzart Sport.
“It is very difficult to plan well when the sale of tickets is ongoing less than 30 minutes to kick off. CAF are encouraging it as well," he added.
"We picked lessons from the organization of the match and crowd control. We will be meeting with our Gor Mahia colleagues on Wednesday to plan on a few issues which will go a long way in ensuring that everything flows in a seamless way.”
The fixture comes at a time when Leopards have fallen behind their arch-rivals in recent time.
