The 27-year-old Nigeria has become a hot commodity, with Ligue 1 rivals AS Monaco also registering their interest.

"Wilfred Ndidi (27) represents a unique opportunity on the market," GFFN said in a report.

"It is no surprise that teams are lining up to sign the Leicester City man, an international midfielder in his prime and soon to be available on a free transfer."

Leicester City, however, are desperate to hold onto their prized asset and is looking to extend Ndidi's contract as they prepare to return to the Premier League.

The midfield dynamo proved instrumental in the Foxes' successful promotion campaign from the Championship, cementing his status as one of the best despite a change of position.

Marseille, who are set to welcome former Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi as their new manager, are wasting no time in their pursuit of Ndidi.

GFFN added that the Nigerian enforcer is seen as the ideal addition to bolster their midfield ranks with Pape Gueye leaving on a free transfer, Jean Onana's loan coming to an end, and doubts over the futures of Jordan Veretout and Geoffrey Kondogbia.

The race for Ndidi's signature is heating up, and it remains to be seen which club will emerge victorious in the battle for this highly coveted Premier League star.
