Why Jadon Sancho's potential return to Manchester United has led to reservations from a section of United players.

The potential return of Jadon Sancho to Manchester United in the summer had drawn mixed reactions from the playing unit.

The England international was loaned out to Chelsea for the 2024-25 season but has struggled for form at the London outfit.

According to the Daily Mail, some players at United have reservations whether the 25-year-old can don the Red Devils jersey again.

The report adds that Sancho's former team-mates are said to have no bone to pick with Sancho when it comes to his personality. However, some players at Old Trafford felt he was unable to cope with demands of playing for Manchester United before he was exiled by former manager Erik ten Hag a year and a half ago.

Signed from Borussia Dortmund  for £72.9million in 2021, Sancho has failed to live up to the price tag as his contract expires in 2026.

A move to Stamford Bridge either has failed to reignite the Englishman's career. Sancho has started 19 games for Chelsea but has completed just 90 minutes eight times.

Sancho, who has scored two goals for Chelsea so far this campaign, last played for England in September 2021.

It has been revealed that the Blues will have to pay Manchester United £5million in compensation if they decide not to make Jadon Sancho's loan move permanent this summer.

Sancho’s move to Stamford Bridge included an obligation for Chelsea to buy him at the end of the season if they finish 14th or higher in the Premier League. The fee will be between £22-25million, depending on the Blues final position in the table.

Two-time Champions League winners Chelsea are fourth on the log with 49 points from 29 matches.

There is still a possibility however that Sancho could be sent back to Old Trafford but the final decision rests with the Chelsea hierarchy.
