Sir Alex Ferguson, a legendary former manager of Manchester United, has declared that Tottenham would never win the Premier League.

Since joining Tottenham as manager in the summer after leaving Celtic, Ange Postecoglou has garnered a lot of plaudits for his performance.

Tottenham have had a revitalised squad this season which has put them in the conversation of title contenders.

However, despite being top of the table early on in the season, they have struggled to continue their early-season form.

Ferguson speaks on Tottenham’s title chances

Spurs, who were first in the standings in October, are now in fourth place, but Ferguson believes they don't have a chance at the Premier League trophy.

Tottenham's most recent Premier League trophy came during Bill Nicholson's tenure in 1960–61.

When asked by Sky Sports Racing's Matt Chapman whether Tottenham will ever win the Premier League, Ferguson responded as reported by Daily Mail, “No' before laughing.

“1961 was the last time they won it. That's a long time. The proposition today with Liverpool and Man City being so powerful in the Premier League.”

Ferguson also responded as follows to Chapman's suggestion that Tottenham has a better chance than United of winning the league, “No chance.”

On Saturday, Tottenham defeated Brighton 2-1 at home thanks to a late equaliser from Brennan Johnson.
