Manchester United has delivered encouraging news regarding £52 million summer signing Leny Yoro, who has returned to outdoor training for the first time since fracturing his metatarsal during pre-season.

The 18-year-old defender sustained the injury just ten days into his United career, during a match against Arsenal at the SoFi Stadium in July.

Yoro, who joined the club from Lille as one of Europe’s most promising talents, was sidelined for approximately three months following surgery.

His injury came after he had made an exciting debut against Rangers and participated in United’s summer tour in the U.S.

On Monday, the club shared a video showing Yoro engaging in an individual training program at Carrington, where he was seen performing various exercises on the grass as well as in the gym.

The club stated that he has progressed to the next phase of his rehabilitation, indicating that he is on track to rejoin the main training group in the coming weeks.

While the timeline for his competitive debut remains uncertain, the club expressed optimism about his recovery.

“A competitive debut for the Reds is not imminent, but it’s really positive to see our summer signing reach this stage of his recovery,” they said in their update.

The news is a welcome boost for both Yoro and Manchester United, who have been keen to see the young defender integrate into the squad.

With his potential and skills, Yoro’s return to fitness could provide much-needed depth to the United defense as the season progresses.
