The former Ajax boss has come under pressure of late after another heavy defeat for his United team.
The Red Devils suffered a 3-0 thrashing from Newcastle United on Wednesday as they crashed out of the Carabao Cup.

Newcastle’s embarrassing win was the latest setback for Ten Hag’s side, who at the weekend lost by the same scoreline to neighbours Manchester City in the Premier League.
United’s defeat means there will be a new champion in the Carabao Cup as the Red Devils failed to make it to the last eight.

Savage advises United
According to the report, the former United midfielder reacted to the latest defeat by calling on the club to give Ten Hag an ultimatum.
Savage believes that the manager should be given the next two matches against Fulham and Copenhagen to save his job or face the sack.

“The next few games are massive for them,” he said. “Fulham away in the Premier League, then I’m going out to Copenhagen to watch them in the Champions League.
"If they lose against Fulham on Saturday, then for me, the midweek match next week against Copenhagen becomes a must-win game.
Savage added that the Dutchman must find a solution to the problem at the club as all is not fine with the Premier League giants.
“I’m sure Erik ten Hag doesn’t think everything is fine – he’s got to solve problems and work things out, maybe change his style of football, but whatever he’s doing now is not working,” he added. “If Manchester United lose both of their upcoming games, I think there are some serious questions to be asked about whether Ten Hag can continue in his role at the club.
“I’ve always said to give Erik ten Hag time and give him until Christmas, but inevitably, all managers and coaches are judged on results.”
Manchester United currently sit eighth on the table in the Premier League and third in their Champions League group.
