Antony was taken off on a stretcher 16 minutes after being subbed on.

Manchester United winger Antony was spotted walking on crutches after suffering an injury during the team's 1-1 draw against Fenerbahce in the Europa League on Thursday night.

The Brazilian, who was brought on as a substitute in the 73rd minute, had hoped to make a significant impact but was forced to leave the pitch just 16 minutes later, being carried off on a stretcher.

The match, which saw Christian Eriksen score the opener for United in the 15th minute, was tightly contested, with Fenerbahce equalizing through Youssef En-Nesyri shortly after half-time.

Despite the encouraging start, the Red Devils struggled to maintain momentum, and the situation worsened with Antony's premature exit.

Initially, the injury appeared minor, but as Antony fell to the ground, it became clear that he was in considerable pain.

Following treatment on the sidelines, he was stretchered off, and images captured after the match showed him leaving the stadium in a protective boot and on crutches, raising concerns about the severity of the injury.

This latest setback adds to Antony’s challenging season at Old Trafford. Since his £86 million transfer from Ajax in the summer of 2022, he has struggled for form, contributing only 12 goals and five assists.

This season, he has started just one match an outing in the Carabao Cup leading to questions about his future in the team.

Manager Erik ten Hag expressed his disappointment over Antony's injury, stating, "It's really unlucky for him. I feel real compassion for him, especially after all the hard work he’s put in during training. His performances in training have been outstanding, and he truly deserved the chance to come on. To see him come off so quickly is really sad. We’ll have to wait 24 hours for a proper assessment, but I hope it's not too serious."

United's struggles continue, with the team now lying in 21st place in the Europa League standings after drawing all three of their group matches.

The pressure continues to mount on Ten Hag, who is under scrutiny for the team’s lack of results.
