The player is understood to be keen on a move to Old Trafford, despite interest from Stamford Bridge.

Manchester United have agreed on verbal terms with Atalanta forward Rasmus Hojlund.

However, the Premier League side has yet to agree on the transfer terms of the striker with the Serie A side. The Red Devils consider the Danish international as an option but have yet to have conclusive talks with Atalanta.

Signing a center-forward is a priority for Erik ten Hag, whose side experimented with Wout Weghorst last season, but the Dutch striker finished the loan spell at Old Trafford without a Premier League goal. The team cannot put their entire confidence in Anthony Martial because he has been inconsistent and has had to deal with injuries on several occasions.

Initially, Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen were targets for Manchester United, but the club cooled their interest in the Tottenham Hotspur and Napoli strikers, respectively, because of their price tags. They shifted their focus to Goncalo Ramos of Benfica, who are asking for €80 million for the striker.

Hojlund is understood to be keen on a move to Manchester United, but his lack of experience is said to be something bothering Ten Hag. The coach wants someone experienced enough to lead the line for United in the future.

However, the 20-year-old remains an option in the summer transfer window, but any move will depend on whether United get to lure their primary targets. United are pondering an exchange deal that involves Mason Greenwood, whom Atalanta will be keen to offer an escape route out of Old Trafford.

Hojlund is also a reported target for Chelsea, who are keen to sign a new striker. However, the Red Devils are expected to have an upper hand in the Hojlund race because the player himself hopes to sign for United.
