Jeremy Doku was unstoppable as Manchester City defeated Luton Town 5-1 to climb to the summit of the Premier League.
Man City back on top after five-star performance
Manchester City took advantage of playing a day earlier than Arsenal and Liverpool by destroying Luton Town at the Etihad.
Guardiola's men started on the front foot and were rewarded for their effort after an Erling Haaland strike was deflected in to give the hosts a second-minute lead.
City continued to dominate proceedings, with the returning Kevin De Bruyne pulling the strings in midfield.
Despite their utter dominance in the first half, their lead remained slender as both sides went into the break.
The second half was more open, and Mateo Kovacic increased the hosts' lead with a fabulous volley, and the floodgates opened from there.
Haaland converted a penalty to increase City's lead before Ross Barkley pulled one back for Luton.
Doku and Gvardiol struck late to kill the game and send the champions to the top of the table.
