Former Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale has made a ludicrous prediction ahead of the UEFA Champions League final between Manchester City and Inter.
Bale suggests Manchester City whitewash
The Welsh former winger won four UCL trophies with Real Madrid during his seven seasons at the club, scoring three goals in two of the finals, and was asked to predict the scoreline of the 2023 final between the English and Italian sides.
Bale replied by suggesting that Manchester City would obliterate their opponents from Serie A with a landslide victory of 5-0.
To do this, Manchester CIty will have to score more goals than half the number of goals that Inter have conceded in the entire competition, making the probability incredibly low.
Manchester City can reach a new European milestone according to Bale
If Bale’s prediction comes to pass, the 2023 final will see the biggest margin of victory since the 1994 final, where AC Milan hammered Barcelona 4-0 in one of the biggest upsets of the European Cup/UCL.
After Manchester City’s mauling of reigning champions Real Madrid in the second leg of their semifinal. Bale’s prediction might not be entirely outlansdish, as the Cityzens have proven that they can be rampant on their day.

They also beat Bayern Munich 3-0 in the quarterfinal and Leipzig 7-0 in the round of 16 to stamp their authority on the competition so far.
Inter will pose a different prospect to these teams however, as the Italians have been known for their defensive solidity during the season.
