Manchester City have welcomed back a key player after a short injury absence as the club looks to continue their push for the Premier League title.
Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has returned to training after recovering from a groin injury.
Haaland back to fitness for Manchester City
The 22-year-old Norway international suffered a groin injury during City’s 6-0 thumping of Championship side Burnley in the FA Cup and was forced to withdraw from the Norway national team squad.
Haaland was then absent for his side’s emphatic 4-1 victory over rivals Liverpool last Saturday, although he was present in the stands as he celebrated the win with his family and fans.
However, in what will surely be a boost to Man City’s plans going forward, the talented striker has now returned to training and will be available for the club’s crucial game against Southampton at St Mary’s Stadium on Saturday.
Haaland has been in outstanding form since he arrived from German outfit Borissia Dortmund last summer and has shattered several goal scoring records along the way.

Manchester City without Haaland have no 'wow' factor – Liverpool legend
Erling Haaland will miss the Premier League blockbuster between Manchester City and Liverpool at the Etihad.
Haaland's return will be a huge boost for City
He has scored 42 goals in 37 games in all competitions, including six hat-tricks and a five-goal display against RB Leipzig in the Champions League last month.
In his absence, Argentine world champion, Julian Alvarez has stepped in and done a fantastic job for Pep Guardiola.
He scored City’s first goal against Liverpool and could retain his place in the starting line-up against Southampton if Haaland is not fit enough to play from the start on Saturday.
Man City are eight points behind league leaders Arsenal with a game in hand and will need to keep winning their games and hope Arsenal drop points as the title race gets to its final stages.
