Manchester City are looking to bolster their midfield for next season and has already initiated a discussion with Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic according to the latest report.
Kovacic who was signed by Chelsea from Real Madrid in 2018 for 45 million euros has just one year left in his contract and he is yet to sign a new contract extension with the Blues.

The 29-year-old could be on his way to the Etihad in the coming weeks if a deal can be agreed upon between both clubs, with Chelsea open to selling the midfielder in the summer.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is also monitoring other targets as they prepare a possible replacement for Ikay Gündogan who could leave when his contract expires in June.
