Premier League winners Manchester City have released captain Ilkay Gundogan after seven seasons at the club.
Manchester City published a list of players whose contracts have expired and Gundogan's name was prominent on the list.

While this may not mean that the midfielder is set to leave the club, it is sure to fuel speculation even further, highlighting the uncertainty surrounding his future.
The 32-year-old remains strongly courted by Barcelona and there is sufficient interest from Arsenal in his services. Should he leave Man City this summer, he will have done so on a high, winning the Treble in his final season.
Man City have also released Benjamin Mendy, who has had a turnulent six years in Manchesterand is currently due to face a retrial on one count of rape and a second count of sexual assault.

Meanwhile, Barcelona have improved their contract offer to sign the Manchester City captain this summer.
Barcelona have been linked with the City captain for several months and Xavi has remained in constant contact with the midfielder, working to convince him to make the move to Spain.
