City on the rebuild
Manchester City are in rebuilding mode after a period of great success in the Premier League. Last summer, they parted with two of their best attackers, Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus, and they brought in Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez.
They also sold full-back Oleksandr Zinchenko to Arsenal and signed youngster Sergio Gomez from Anderlecht.
Centre-back Aymeric Laporte, who has been at the club since the winter of 2018, has been strongly linked with a move away from the club, and the reports have intensified since the signing of Manuel Akanji.
