Man United hire Amorim
Following the defeat to West Ham last week, albeit controversial, INEOS had had enough and decided to fire Erik ten Hag.
They immediately identified Amorim as his successor and entered negotiations with his current club, Sporting.
As Pulse Sports reported, Manchester United will pay a compensation fee north of €10 million to the Portuguese-based side and will wait till the November international break for Amorim to resume the role after two crucial games for Sporting: against Manchester City (Champions League) and Braga (Liga Portugal).
What Maresca said
Later today, Enzo Maresca will take his Blues to Old Trafford in an attempt to record Chelsea's first victory at the Theatre of Dreams since 2013. While Ruud Van Nistelrooy will be in the opposite dugout tomorrow, Maresca is already wary of an Amorim-led Manchester United.
He knows the 39-year-old to be excellent at the job, as he has followed his career, and he expects him to be a success in Manchester.
“Ruben Amorim will do great job at Man United. I have watched many Sporting games and know the way they play,” he said, per Fabrizio Romano.
“It's a fantastic style, how they defend, the way they attack so for sure, I don't have any doubt that he's going to do a great job.”
