There were seven important games that were key in Man City's title challenge in the 2022-23 Premier League campaign.

Manchester City are champions of England for the sixth time and Pep Guardiola has won three of the Premier League trophies in the English topflight division.

The sweetest part of the victory was that it was a come-from-behind win for the Citizens ater overtaking Arsenal at the right time to go all the way.

However, City’s league win did not come by fluke, there were some key games that mattered along the journey before reaching the promised land.

City came from the back drop of a Community Shield defeat to rivals Liverpool to beat the Hammers at the London Stadium and it was their star man Erling Haaland who got a brace.

2. Man City 2-4 Crystal Palace

After being forced to a draw by Newcastle, City’s title hopes looked shaky as they went 0-2 behind against visiting Crystal Palace.

The Citizens made an emphatic return in the second period as Haaland breezed through the Eagles defence with a hat-trick as City won by 4-2.

There were sometimes uncertainties when these two sides in the city clashed in the Premier League but there no was doubt in the scoreline as Haaland and Phil Foden bagged a hat-trick in the nine-goal thriller at the Etihad.

4. Man City 2-1 Fulham

It became a difficult game when Joao Cancelo was sent off and City had to execute the remainder of the minutes with ten men. They kept their composure and won it with a stoppage time penalty scored by Haaland to earn all three points.

The master tactician Guardiola did the unthinkable to his squad when he played Rodri as a centre-back but later reversed the role of the Spanish midfielder after he was being ineffective and his side still grinded a 1-0 win at Stamford Bridge.

The Gunners has never beaten City since Guardiola became coach and it was not to be a different as Kevin De Bruyne’s masterple display helped the Citizens win by 3-1.

Guardiola proved that his side can deliver without the services of Haaland who was out injured. Julian Alvarez, De Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogand and Jack Grealish all found the back of the net after Mohamed Salah had put the Reds ahead.
