Rangers head coach Abdu Maikaba has expressed excitement at his side's performance in their week 13 fixture of the 2023 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
The Enugu-based club on Sunday played out a 1-1 draw with Sunshine Stars at the Ondo State Sports Complex in Akure, a similar scoreline as their previous meeting in Awka earlier this season.

Reacting to the result, Maikaba stated that his side aimed to win the game but would make do with the point anyways.

“I actually came here to win but the early goal conceded demoralized the boys,” Maikaba said according to ACL Sports.
“But the determination was there in the boys which gave us the equalizer and had more opportunity to go ahead early in the second half but were missed.
"I think it was a fair result to both sides as we keep working to ensure we end the season well,” he added.
Rangers 8th in Group B
The topsy-turvy season for the Flying Antelopes have seen them struggle to gain points on the road, the draw with Sunshine Stars, only their third as a visiting team this season.
