The defeat on Sunday was the latest setback for Potter in his bid to revive the club’s fortunes, a battle he is losing.

His reign at Chelsea has produced some damning stats, with Sunday’s loss adding to the numbers.

- Four players have outscored Chelsea in 2023
Potter and Chelsea failed once again to find the back of the net for the second consecutive game in all competitions.

The latest blank means the Blues have only scored four times this year in the Premier League and four players have now scored more in the league in 2023 than the Blues, with Kane, who opened the scoring today, amongst them.
Leading the pack is Manchester United star, Marcus Rashford, who has scored eight goals, followed by another Manchester boy, City’s Erling Haaland, with six goals.

Kane, with five goals and Ollie Watkins, complete the lineup of players with more goals than Chelsea in 2023.

Chelsea’s form is so bad that Potter and his men have only managed just one victory in 11 matches since the turn of the year.

They have also conceded 14 goals in that time, an average of over one goal per game.
- Worst away record in 22 years
For the first time in over two decades, Chelsea have failed to win eight consecutive matches on the road.
The defeat to Spurs saw the Blues make it eight away matches without a win for the first time since March 2001.
That’s not all
Kane’s goal also means he becomes the first Spurs player to score against Chelsea home and away in the same league season in over 30 years.

Spurs legend, Gary Lineker, was the last player to achieve that feat against the Blues back in the 1990/91 season.
