Liverpool back on top

Liverpool are back on top of the Premier League, albeit having played one game more than Manchester City.

The Reds had to dig deep for this win, performing in-front of a record Anfield crowd, without talisman Mohamed Salah.

Diogo Jota opened the scoring for the hosts, heading home Trent Alexander-Arnold’s corner after James Trafford flapped at the cross.

A set-piece was ultimately Burnley’s undoing, but it was also their avenue back into the game, as Josh Brownhill’s delivery was headed home by Dara O’Shea - his first-ever Premier League goal.

Two goals from Luis Diaz and the ever-improving Darwin Nunez sent Jurgen Klopp's men back on top in front of a record crowd of 58, 896.
