Liverpool defeated Toulouse and made it three wins out of three to stay top of their Europa League group.

Jurgen Klopp's side were in superb form and were looking confident heading into their third Europa League game.

They had it easy against the French outfit as they thrashed them 5-1 to remain top of the Group E table.

Diogo Jota opened the scoring for Liverpool before Thijs Dallinga scored the equaliser. The Reds then went on to score four goals from Wataru Endo, Darwin Nunez Ryan Gravenberch and Mohamed Salah.

As it happened

Trent Alexander-Arnold captained Liverpool, with regular skipper Virgil van Dijk on the bench as Jurgen Klopp made eight changes to the Reds side that beat Everton at the weekend.

Toulouse made one change from their 1-1 draw with Reims on Sunday as defender Moussa Diarra replaced midfielder Cesar Gelabert who dropped to the bench.

Liverpool kicked off the game and got the first goal just nine minutes into the game. Diogo Jota ran through the Toulouse defence before a lovely finish to make it 1-0.

Toulouse got the equaliser just six minutes after Liverpool opened the scoring. Thijs Dallinga showed wonderful composure to finish in front of goal after being sent clean through by Aron Donnum.

Liverpool then took the lead again with Wataru Endo scoring his first goal for his new club. The Japan midfielder managed to get his head on the end of Trent Alexander-Arnold's lofted ball into the box and planted his header into the back of the net.

The Reds made it three with a superb finish from Darwin Nunez. The striker hit the ball into the roof of the net after a lovely free-flowing move which started with a driving run by Ryan Gravenberch.

The second half started the same way Liverpool left off in the first half and this time they added two more goals to make it five on the night.

The fourth goal was worked by Darwin Nunez who did well to beat a defender and he glided past the keeper but somehow hit the post. The ball rebounded to Ryan Gravenberch who still had work to do but he kept his cool and slotted it into the back of the net.

Mohamed Salah then came in as a substitute to round off the game with a finish to make it five on the night.
