Arne Slot’s key player has been ruled out for several weeks with a muscle issue.
Liverpool have been dealt a significant blow with the news that first-choice goalkeeper Alisson Becker will be sidelined for an extended period due to a hamstring injury.
Games Alisson could miss
The Brazilian sustained the injury during the Reds’ 1-0 Premier League victory over Crystal Palace last Saturday, and subsequent scans have confirmed the club's worst fears.
Alisson is expected to be out of action until after the November international break, meaning he will be absent for a crucial run of fixtures for the Merseyside club.
This absence will see him miss key Premier League clashes against Chelsea and Arsenal, a Champions League double-header against RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen, a Carabao Cup tie at Brighton, and a league match against Aston Villa.
The injury comes as a major setback for Arne Slot, who will now have to rely on Caoimhin Kelleher to fill the void left by the 32-year-old shot-stopper.
Kelleher, who recently recovered from an illness that kept him out of the Palace match, is currently away on international duty with the Republic of Ireland.
While Liverpool had hoped to have Alisson back for their Premier League match against Southampton on November 24th, his return date remains uncertain and will depend on his recovery progress, as per The Athletic.
Following the Southampton game, Slot’s men face crucial home matches against Real Madrid in the Champions League and Manchester City, further emphasising the importance of Alisson's timely return.

Premier League: 5 reasons why Arne Slot can lead Liverpool to the title
The Dutchman seeks to compete against Manchester City and Arsenal for the Reds’ first top-flight title since a historic 2020 triumph.
The experienced goalkeeper missed 10 league games in the 2023-24 campaign due to muscle problems, highlighting a concerning trend for the 32-year-old goalkeeper.
Despite the setback, Liverpool are already planning for the future. They have agreed to a £29 million deal to sign Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia, but the Georgian goalkeeper will not join the club until next summer.
For now, the focus remains on Alisson's recovery and Kelleher's ability to step up and maintain the table-topping club’s strong start to the season.
